SIGMA STRETCH FILM STRETCHES AGAIN
LYNDHURST, NJ: Sigma Stretch Film once again finds itself in the enviable position to expand its stretch film capacity with the purchase of one Battenfeld Gloucester 5-layer cast stretch line for its Lyndhurst, NJ plant and two more Battenfeld Gloucester monolayer blown film lines for installation in their Belleville, ON, Canada and Shelbyville, KY facilities. These three new lines are in addition to two other B-G lines currently in various stages of installation. When all are completed, Sigma Stretch will have a nameplate capacity, dedicated to industrial stretch wrap production, exceeding 425 million pounds.

Sigma Stretch Film Corp., a unit of Sigma Plastics Group and the largest U.S. and Canadian producer/marketer of industrial stretch film, was founded in 1994 and has five stretch film plants, strategically located to efficiently and economically service the North American stretch film market. In addition to the three locations mentioned, Tulsa, OK and their newest facility in Riverside, CA , all contain Battenfeld Gloucester cast and blown film equipment.

"We've examined the stretch film market and determined now is an excellent time to position ourselves to meet future growth and customer demands," states Alfred Teo, Sigma Group's Chairman and CEO. Sigma's five line expansion is the largest new commitment to this industry since Sigma purchased eight B-G lines for multiple locations back in 1995. "We know we can count on Gloucester's sophisticated and compatible machinery to help us meet customer demands. Consistent product quality is paramount to our continued success."

The new film lines will help achieve Sigma Group's goal of over $1 billion in sales and 1 billion pounds of resin throughput for 2005. Teo says, "We rely on production lines that perform to the output levels specified and with features that help keep costs and downtime to a minimum. It's what our customers demand and it's what Sigma Stretch delivers."
